TESC credit evaluation question
#1
For all you TESC gurus, I have a question about how the credit evaluation works....
In May, I will be getting an Associates from my local community college. I transferred in credits from four year colleges as well as CLEP scores. One of the courses I transferred in was a computer science course. My community college transcribed the credit as a 4 credit computer science course when it was only a 3 credit course at the four year school. My CLEP credits were transcribed as well, for instance the Biology CLEP became Bio 101 for 4 credits and Bio 102 for 4 credits. My question is, will TESC transcribe the credits from the original source, or work from what the credits became at the community college? For example, will my Biology CLEP only be worth 6 credits at TESC or will they be worth the 8 credits I received at the community college. Additionally, because I will have a full transcript from the community college with all of the credits I've earned from all sources, will I still have to provide transcripts from the 4 year schools and from CLEP? Or will I be able to send just the full transcript from my community college to get evaluated by TESC?

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

TESC generally asks for credits from all original credit sources, so the community college as well as the four-year college and CLEP (and any other sources you might possibly have that could be credit-worthy).

Here is how TESC transcribes any CLEP credits:
CLEP - College-Level Exam Program
BSBA, HR / Organizational Mgmt - Thomas Edison State College, December 2012
- TESC Chapter of Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration
- Arnold Fletcher Award

AAS, Environmental, Safety, & Security Technologies - Thomas Edison State College, December 2012
AS, Business Administration - Thomas Edison State College, March 2012

Mrs B is correct, and all your credit will be undone and re-evaluated according to TESC policy. Credits won't be changed from their ORIGINAL source, so if your second school did some funky stuff, expect it to be undone and according to the original earning. So, yes, you'll need to send all transcripts. Check and double check for errors, TESC sometimes makes errors on initial unofficial evals.
