TESU Liberal Arts Degree; What Study courses to take

Question for you: Why does this class need to be upper level? There's a few options on both Sophia and Study that fulfill the requirement and are lower-level.

From my understanding I only need 7 more courses besides Pub Speaking & Eng Comp II, 5 UL and 2 directly with TESU, so I figured I'd knock out the Civil Engagement requirement within those 5 ULs instead of taking an extra course. I wasn't smart choosing two art classes on Sophia, and when I was advised in '22 she seemed to imply the Civic Engagement requirement could only be fulfilled on Study.

You're typing in several posts for just one class, it would be much more effective and efficient if we already know what you have on the table, and that's the reason the addendum and template was created, it would list all the classes you have or an evaluation. Asking for X classes in subjects is great, but we don't know what classes you have, thus, we may be recommending classes that duplicate... It's best to have something to reference and then we can provide a better, more complete answer.

Written Communication/Oral Communication 0/6: In progress on Sophia

Information Literacy/Capstone 0/6: Not yet started at TESU

Civic Engagement 0/3

Upper Level Credits 0/15: (*At least TWO or more different areas must be included within the entire Concentration to provide breadth of knowledge in the Liberal Studies Area.) <-- I do not know what this means

Liberal Studies Credits 13/27 : (A maximum of SIX credits can be at the 1000 academic level) I only have 1 credit that is 1000 level

Electives 21/26

Completed on Sophia but not yet recieved by college: Art History II, Visual Communications, Intro to Ethics

This is what I still need for my Liberal Studies degree. All other classes were completed through my A.A. at a different college so I have not taken any other Sophia/Study courses. I asked the advisor directly if I only needed 7 more classes and he said yes, but it seems like there are more. I want to try & make all 5 of my UL Credits PSY classes so I can get a concentration in Psychology. (I have a prior 3 credit PSY class from my A.A. which would bring me to 18).

No worries, you're on the correct path, you need more than the 7 whichever academic advisor told you. Essentially, follow the degree plans on the WIKI and take the classes recommended for general education requirements and remaining classes for the degree. It's just following the degree plan to the T if you needed, as the plans are always updated, don't deviate from it unless you have to.
