I asked directly how it fit the Math major, not my major. I could have elaborated, but in my last few emails with them, it's become clear they skim theses things at best and I wanted to keep it brief to avoid them missing something.

Then start off by saying that you are thinking of changing your major and maybe that will grab their attention. Perhaps bold it and underline it as well. :roflol:

TESU skims tickets. It's best to be succinct and get to the point right away (change of major to math). I know many other businesses and institutions that do the same thing, including the one I work at.

There are as many all-caps/bold/italics in my followup as is possible without seeming like a total nutcase

With follow-up emails and a phone call, I think I'm getting somewhere.
Figuring it was worth a shot, I asked in an email about the APU Linear Algebra:
ME: "Will this be considered as satisfying the linear algebra requirement for the Mathematics area of study?"
REPLY: "Yes, APU Linear Algebra course currently would fit into the AOS for the 2015 BA Mathematics requirements"
Not exactly a straight answer, so I need to get clarification as to it satisfying the requirement explicitly (rather than simply being applicable as an elective as that reply seems to read), but it might just make this all come together.
If not, it has occurred to me that I could take the second edX differential equations course which concludes some time in June (I'm almost done with the first one) for 3sh of MAT-399 and use that to maybe fill the gap and plead for mercy on the UND only being 2sh.

They are telling you that it would fill the slot of Linear Algebra in the AOS for the BA in Math, not an elective. At least that is what I get from the response.

I'm with you on what it likely means. BUT, this course is the only thing standing between me and graduation, so "will fit AOS" seems like thinner ice to me than "meets the requirement exactly." It not having calc explicitly in the prereq makes me nervous. If they'll pre-approve it with an unequivocal answer, I'll feel much better.

Make sure you really want to change your major. There is no going back according to my very recent TESU ticket:
"I'm sorry, TESU policy doesn't allow us to add the BA. Natural Science/Mathematics as a second area of study to your BA. Computer Science. Second area of studies can only be added to BA degrees that are specific subjects area. The BA. Science/Mathematics is a broad category encompassed by many other specific subject areas. For example, you could add History, Psychology, Communications etc.. as a second area of study."

It's a little strange to me that they told you that. I currently have Nat Sci as my first and Comm listed as my second area of study. So evidently, you can add to it, but not add it? I'm not really sure I see how it's any different. I wonder if it's because they count CS as a Nat Sci? Maybe too much overlap?

That's correct, too much overlap - CS is already included in NatSci/Math as a subject area in the concentration.
It's kind of like not being able to get the BSBA in General Management AND a second BSBA. You can get 2 different concentrations (Marketing, Accounting, CIS, HR, Healthcare Management, etc.), but once you get General Management, you can't add another one to the mix. I think they should be more clear about this, because I think some people would choose differently if they knew this.
