TESU residency waiver
#1
Is there a recommended plan to get a degree from TESU by paying the residency waiver fee and just transferring in all credits from SDC, community college, and other sources? How would that work? Thanks!

Literally any plan on the wiki can work like that. There are TWO required courses that you must take at TESU. The capstone and cornerstone classes cannot be transferred in at all. This is regardless of whether you pay the residency fee or not, but everything else can be transfers.

Students who opt not to take at least 15 TESU credits (not counting TECEPs) must pay the residency waiver fee.

You can transfer in up to 90 credits total from alt sources like Sophic and SDC. You can transfer in up to 90 credits from CCs. You can transfer in as many as you like from 4 year RA schools or foreign schools. Any combination of those can be used to transfer in up to 114 credits towards a TESU degree. The TESU cornerstone and capstone will make up the last 6 credits to get to 120.

Of course, you must meet all of the degree requirements while doing so, but most of the TESU degree plans on the Wiki show enough transfer courses to make up the 114 credits.

Yes, it's just the two courses from TESU you do last, together, the cornerstone/capstone on the final term. Obviously, you want to complete all your community college credits first, then work on the Sophia.org/Study.com combo or if you prefer other ACE/NCCRS options, then transfer everything into TESU for an academic evaluation. Complete remaining courses for transfer (if any remain), then again, finally work on your Cornerstone/Capstone to finish the degree... it's just a series of steps... work on only one provider at a time, don't waste your subscription on multiple providers at once...

If I pay the residency waiver fee, I only have to take the cap & cornerstone at TESU, right? What about the RA credits? Do I still have to meet the minimum 15 RA credits since I can only transfer in a max of 45 credits from SDC, CC, and Army JST?  Thanks.

From my Acedemic evaluation:  Specifically, a maximum of 90 semester hours (SH) in total, from both ACE and NCCRS reviewed organizations, like corporate training, CLEP, DSST, AP exams, Study.com, Sophia, Ma'alot Educational Network, Military Joint Services Transcript (JST), can be used toward a bachelor's degree and 45 SH toward an associate degree.

Some JST credits are RA, it really depends on which institution you got the credits from... Again, you should really give us the 'full picture', please create a PDF or screenshot of your evaluation so we know what's already completed and missing, we'll provide feedback on how to complete the remaining credits, I just updated one of your threads here asking the same thing: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid402758

You'll need 24 total RA credits and 6 RA credits come from taking the cornerstone/capstone at TESU.

TECEPs can be used as a quick way to get RA credit. TESU is offering some free ones this month.
