Can you take a tecep for let’s say liberal arts math to satisfy a  ra elective credit if you’ve already received credit for a higher level math course like college algebra ?

@Pats20, is there a particular reason you're going for this? I would recommend the TECEP if it hits these 3 reasons, 1) If you need the RA credit, 2) If it doesn't duplicate your current credits, 3) You require a math course for the ASNSM in Math or something that requires this course. Otherwise, if you're going for just any TECEP, it'll enroll you the same way this will, you might as well get credit for some course you're interested in...

Thanks for asking. I need the ra credit and I heard on this forum that that particular tecep was pretty simple.

Another question. Once you sign up for a tecep how long do you have before you have to actually take it ?

You should have until the end of the term, which is 3 months. If you think it's going to take you more than 2 months to study, though, I would wait to sign up until you are more ready.

It looks like the cost has remained the same ($50/credit for lower-level exams, $75/credit for upper-level exams) since at least the 2019-2020 academic year, but keep in mind they could also increase costs for the 2022-2023 academic year.
