Yes, I usually mention to work on three things: Certifications, Degree, Experience. Tech Apprenticeships, Internships, Co-Op Education, etc are all similar to work experience while you're still an undergraduate student. I love the fact that people can get into these and have some "hard earned skills" in some subject matter.
