Trouble with Shmoop.com
#1
On Feb. 5th I accidentally opened 2 windows on a Final Exam at Shmoop.com. When I finished the exam, I closed them both, not realizing the other window had been opened. Now, the Final Exam is stuck on a score of 0.

I emailed Shmoop.com shorty after and they have yet to fix the problem. I have emailed them 2 times more since then and each time I get the reply that they will work on it.

Today, I am trying to login to Shmoop, but I keep getting logged out by the Shmoop website. I have tried loggin many times, but I keep getting logged out each time. I haven't yet written Shmoop, but I'm sure about the reply I will be given.

I like the abundance of Literature and Humanity courses available for credit on Shmoop, but the website has been a real pain in the ass.

My son did a search for the course he wanted to do.
It brought up the course and he got started.
He worked on the course for a week only to realize that he was working on the non-college credit version of the course and had to start over.
Then some links don't work...
Some questions don't make sense and you have to guess what they're looking for.
It is what it is... cheap credits.

I have completed 8 literature courses at Shmoop in a little over 3 weeks and hopefully will finish 1 history course before the month is up. I had already read quite a lot of the material in the courses before so I only needed to brush up with summaries.
Drugs in Literature, Holocaust Literature, Introduction to Poetry, Literature in the Media, Modernist Literature, Shakespeare's Plays, Western Literature, Women's Literature.
All of these courses were put together ok and the tests were reasonable. There a few questions that were a bit ambiguous.

I also looked at a few of the other courses and tried a couple of the tests.
Bible literature - looks ok to complete without any issues.
Brit lit and American lit - these are much longer than other courses and would take some effort to get through (or maybe I was feeling a bit burned after so much lit this month)
Contemporary lit - the questions on the tests are very badly written.

The courses link has all the credit bearing courses under the college heading. They are clearly marked with red academic caps.
Online Courses - Core curriculum & electives for middle & high school students | Shmoop

I did have a bit of advantage going in, having already read a vast majority of the material (I like to read, a lot) but I found Shmoop to be pretty much a bargain. If I manage to get European history finished by the end of this week that is 27 credits for $90. Not sure of anywhere that you can get credits for $3.30 each.

I haven't had any issues with the website. I am logging in at home on computer, out and about on a laptop, and I even took a final on my phone sat in a cafe at Bali airport.

Automatic Logout problem now fixed.

I think the Auto-Logout problem was only temporary because it's the first time it has happened to me. The lack of customer support is still frustrating. My first month at Shmoop I earned 21 ACE credits (On top of 16 for Aleks, 3 from Study.com, and 6 from TEEX). The courses are really easy to manage. They are only slightly time consuming. You gotta read the material to pass, as the exams are tailored to the material.
