Eastern New Mexico University MBA
#1
I just finished my associates degree and want to start my MBA with Eastern New Mexico University. I have all of the pre-reqs out of the way with the exception of FIN 315 Managerial Finance 1. Does anyone know of a place I may be able to take the course or test out of it? I checked Ohio Exams, ECEs, DSST, and CLEP and none of those exams satisfy that requirement. I even checked Clovis Community College and University of Idahos independent study page, but to no avail. Money is a huge factor for me, so I'd like a moderate to low cost course I could use in place of it. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance!

You finished an Associates or Bachelors? Your gonna need a Bachelors for admission to the ENMU MBA. I want to say either EC exam or a TECEP is available for the Finance...you will need to check that ENMU accepts it. Did you try BYU and CSU-Pueblo Independent Studies?

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

You have to verify what they mean by Managerial Finance. Principles of Finance or Financial Management might be acceptable.

I didn't see anything with BYU (I have their print out in front of me) I finished my associates. I'm finishing my bachelors within the next 4 weeks. Basically, to make a long story short, I simply needed one class to get an associates. I tested out of it with COSC. After I did that, I started testing out of other credits toward the bachelors and satisfying pre-reqs for ENMU. ENMU has a special program where if you're in your last semester of a bachelors, they will let you enroll on a part time basis. You just have to send transcripts and proof that you've satisfied the pre-reqs.

This course from BYU pretty closely aligns with the ENMU course BUS M 201: Financial Management (Online) - BYU Independent Study - Online Courses I would send that link to someone affiliated with the ENMU MBA and see if it will meet the requirement. In the past they have always been very quick to respond to me...I almost applied to that program, lacked a few to many pre-reqs.

I went ahead and e-mailed the dean of the department about it. I am awaiting the response. Thank you for forwarding that my way. Hopefully she accepts it!

The degree plan with the listed pre-reqs is here: http://www.enmu.edu/academics/resources/...er/mba.pdf

On their website it gives a list of tests you can take (CLEP and DSST) to get out of the pre reqs. You'll need Statistics, Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, Organizational Behavior, Micro and Macro econ (as pre-reqs), Business Law, Principles of Marketing, etc.
