UEXCEL retakes
#1
Hi all, if you take a UEXCEL exam and only get a D when is the soonest you can take it again to improve your grade? Obviously this is a completely theoretical question Wink , but would I have to wait until the next term and re register or would it be longer than that and so I'd be better off taking an alternative source of credit.

Thanks

Hello,
I haven't taken an Uexcel exam yet, but this is what it says on their webpage link below.
Excelsior College | Retaking Exams

You may attempt any UExcel exam a total of four times but no more than three times within a one year period.
You may repeat an exam 60 days after your first attempt and 120 days after your second and/or subsequent attempts.

I'm not sure about other members. For myself, I live 1.5 hours away from a CLEP or DSST Center.
My first choices would be Saylor and Straighterline courses, then decide an alternative as well for the remainder.

Thanks, yeah I don't have a DSST centre at all, so it's either UEXCEL or Propero. I think I'll just have to wait the 60 days. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

UExcel or Propero are the only options for this exam? Bummer, those are both fairly expensive options. Which exam is it, out of curiosity?

Principles of Finance. It's my own fault, I should have rescheduled rather than taking it as I didn't have time to study. Ah well I'll treat it as a practice exam.

Would Saylor's BUS103: Introduction to Financial Accounting not work for this? It would only cost you $25 for the online proctoring.

I don't know what requirement you're trying to use it for but TESU accepts it as ACC-101 Principles of Financial Accounting

No. Financial Accounting is an accounting course and a requirement for the BSBA. Principles of Finance (or Financial Management) is a finance course and a separate requirement for the BSBA. Penn Foster offers it. It's less expensive than the Propero course, but more expensive than the Uexcel.

Gotcha, that makes sense.

Looks like that uexcel exam is cheaper than I thought anyway. Some of them can get pricey (I was looking at the Abnormal Pysch exam for a bit and it's $345)

Most Uexcels are $95 plus a $50 testing fee. A few are over $300 with a $60 testing fee.

I see you're in London. Have TrainE near Regents Park closed? They used to do both CLEP and DSST.

OK, checking their website, they've changed their name and their address Sad
May be worth a call to see if they have the set up for the exams still

I'm in Cornwall so I understand your limitation. Even a UEXCEL centre is 1.5 hours from me
