UL RA Credits Needed for TESU BA Computer Science
#11
Oh man, that sucks! I really, really, REALLY hate networking. Things like the 7-layer transport protocol model are confusing and I keep forgetting which one does what. I wish that there was another option.

innen_oda, I think that there are probably cheaper options out there? I don't think CSU Global is that affordable.
In progress:

It's not super cheap, but using the tactic mentioned earlier, enrolling in a 1-credit 'normal' CSU-Global would then (theoretically? not sure if this has been tested) allow you to enroll in the self-study assessments, which are $250 per 3-credit course.

That 1 credit course will run $350 alone, so it's not cheap, but if you can knock out a few other courses using SSA, the per credit cost might not be quote so dear. Given that CSU gives you 16 weeks, a dedicated student could potentially get through multiple SSAs - especially if they're on topics one already has a good grasp on.

That would make it slightly more affordable, assuming that the process actually works. It'd be nice if someone were able to test that for us.

If Coopersmith Linear Algebra no longer works for CS, I kind of doubt that any other Linear Algebra would work either.

Oh ok. I thought it was Just Coopersmith linear Algebra not approved anymore. Kinda odd that none would be approved. Linear algebra is fundamental To comp sci. There isn’t a program out there that doesn’t require it.

I agree, it is odd. But it wouldn't be the first time that TESU made a bizarre decision. I'm thinking about taking Linear Algebra anyway. If it doesn't work for CS (the advisor could be mistaken), it should at least work for an ASNSM Math.

It can always be one of your electives.

I have so many credits that they don't all fit on my transcript as it is! I have somewhere around 120-130 credits already but I still need specific ones to fill degree requirements.

Wow the Linear Algebra elimination is very disheartening because I bought study material. Why does TESU make such sudden & bizarre changes without notice? I'll just have to study Networking a lot harder now.
