UMPI - BA in Accounting plan
#41
IC sends to Credly (same as Sophia and SDC) within 2-3 business days of taking the exam. If the only things left are Spanish & American Government and you tell them that you're "waiting for the credit(s) to post", then you should be good, even if you have only taken the exam on January 3rd! You should be able to make the January 3rd deadline. I would recommend making flashcards and studying the Spanish for at least an hour every day. Duolingo may also help you to get the structure of Spanish into your brain, though the vocab may be slightly different than what IC uses. It's like "truck" vs. "lorry" in US vs. UK English. Good luck!

I would focus on the American Government course and get that transferred to UMPI, the Spanish one can wait, as you can ask to have that added when you have it finished (even if it is after Jan 3), just apply now and send your Sophia/Study.com stuff to them, you can add the American Government later as well if you haven't started it, but I would finish that since it's "easier"... Note: You still need to finish at least 30 credits at UMPI at the minimum...

Thank you! I actually plan on doing this for Intro to Stats from ONU as well, as I'll start it after I'm done with American Gov and Spanish. Hopefully I'll get it done before the start date (Jan 18) and they'll accept it without any hassle.

Interesting, do you mean that I'll be able to transfer Spanish 1 without requesting for a permission as done for other subjects? Also, if you read the first post, I plan on doing more than 60 credits at UMPI, so I think I will have more than enough to meet this requirement, haha!

Thank you both!

Once you're enrolled you'll need permission from your advisor to bring in additional transfer credit. The application date isn't the date you're enrolled.

I see. From the day I apply, Jan 3, how many days will it take for them to enroll me? So I can plan accordingly.

Edit: Saw this from the UMPI section: "Once you apply and are accepted, you are automatically enrolled and you MUST obtain permission from your advisor to transfer in additional classes."
My question is, am I enrolled when I pay or when I am accepted?

There is no specific time it takes to be accepted. They have to receive all of your documents before they will accept you.

Once you've been accepted, then you'll be enrolled. You don't have to do anything. It's automatic with acceptance.

Both Spanish and American Gov done! Hopefully I will get the transcripts from IC before the third of January. All that left is ONU Intro to Stats!

Happy new year to everyone!

I applied and received a phone call two days later from an enrollment specialist. After informing me about UMPI and answering my questions, they asked me to apply, which is weird because I had already applied. How did they call me if I hadn't applied? I received two emails, first one was with a title "YourPace Application Received" and second one "Thank you for your interest in UMPI online". I also submitted my ACE transcript to "edocs@maine.edu"as stated in the first email. Should I do anything else or just wait for them to reach to me?

Not as weird as when they called ss20ts (I think it was) AFTER graduation to encourage enrollment in UMPI. They really need to get rid of UMPI's "enrollment specialists".

Assuming your ACE transcript is the only one and/or you've sent all your transcripts to UMPI, I think you just sit back and wait!

Haha I see, this is nothing then! I don't know what transcripts they require as nobody has contacted me yet. Will they need my high school diploma? Do I need to provide an English language certificate? Also, next week I'm finishing Intro to Stats at ONU. I don't know how long will it take ONU to grade and provide me with a transcript, but there's that as well.
