UMPI - BA in Accounting plan
#51
According to https://www.umpi.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/ international students need an English exam + HS transcripts. I know YourPace is slightly different, though, and these requirements are sometimes waived depending on what you're bringing to UMPI.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

I have IELTS Academic. But if they need HS transcripts, according to the enrollment specialist, I will have to get them evaluated which takes 20 days at best from what I read online. I have them officially translated in my country but I don't know if that's enough. The thing is that I don't know what they want, hopefully they'll contact me soon.

Do I need to provide an English language certificate? Also, next week I'm finishing Intro to Stats at ONU. I don't know how long will it take ONU to grade and provide me with a transcript, but there's that as well.

UMPI has been on break due to the holidays so that's why no one has contacted you. When you filled out the application you had to list where you had earned credits from and it says to send your official transcripts to the U of M. Same applies to international studies. If all of your transcripts are ACE transcripts then you need to send those transcripts. If you have college credit outside of the US, you need to send those transcripts to WES for an evaluation. If English is not the native language of your home country, then yes you will need to provide your TOEFL scores.

I see! I had my ACE credits transcript sent directly from Credly to "edocs@maine.edu" but I sent another e-mail yesterday to this address with my IELTS and my officially translated high school diploma as well. I don't have college credit out of the US. Hopefully my high school diploma doesn't need evaluation though..

That is all sent to the U of M system and not UMPI. UMPI no longer processes applications. They're all processed by the U of M system now and takes a bit longer. They will be back from the holiday break this week. They are also closed on weekends.  This a VERY small school system so we need to have patience. Often times there is 1 person working on multiple campuses so it takes a bit longer for things to be processed. Did you apply for the January session?

I understand and of course, I just wanted to make sure I haven't done anything wrong. Yes, I applied for the January session, which starts on 18th. Today I received an e-mail from @maine.edu with my account credentials, but they've mistaken my first name of the UMS address and I contacted them to have it changed, hopefully that won't delay things.

They'll be in touch. They've been closed due to holidays and we just finished the semester so they've been incredibly busy with current students. I am well aware of when the next term starts as I'm currently enrolled. Your email address won't hold up your application. The account gives you access to MaineStreet which is where you'll see what they need from you and what has been processed.

So..

Bad news. They won't accept me for this upcoming session because I didn't have my high school diploma evaluated (didn't know until the enrollment advisor informed me, was too late though) and have only 53 credits instead of 60. I tried explaining, I asked if I would get in provided that I have 10 more credits within the next week, I contacted the director of the program, the dean of the competency based education, but they insist. They won't waive anything. I sprinted and spent so much time to make it to the application deadline, only to hear that an evaluation or 10 credits that I can have before the start date would hold me back. I'm starting on March 14.

I really don't want to lose any more time. I'm trying to think what courses I can do somewhere else that will be transferred to UMPI. I have completed everything listed here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...edit#gid=0 from Sophia, SDC and ONU.

Please note that I will do three more random courses at Sophia (that will come in as electives) just to get to 60 credits so I can be admitted right away, as documents deadline is 28 Feb. But I want to do courses that match the major requirements so I can win some time.

The remaining courses are all the UMPI ones listed at the document above along with Calculus 1. To remind you, I need all of the Accounting/Math/Econ courses to be RA. The rest, for example Eng Composition 1 & 2 can be non-RA.

What are my options? I am thinking of doing ASU Advanced Excel in Business (waiting for UMPI to inform me if it transfers as Spreadsheet Applications), along with ONU Eng Writting 1 & 2. But is ONU the best solution for these two courses? They seem a lot of work and to be honest I don't know if I will be able to do both + ASU before 14 March. Perhaps I should do Calculus 1 now to get it out of the way and just take more courses in that session later at UMPI? Any ideas?

Maybe a few finance classes on Study.com that transfer in as business electives (to supplement, rather than replace, the RA courses) would be more in line with your interests.
