UMPI block transfer ?
#11
For residency purposes: You just need to take 30 credits at UMPI, unless you can't find the classes for transfer because they're expensive. It all depends on the degree you're going for at the institution and the requirements for that degree. At UMPI... If you're going the BAS/BLS with accounting minor, you will be swapping your electives with the minor, thus, you have 90 credits transferred in already.

At UMPI/TESU or whatever institution you're looking at, for max transfer, the most they can waive are the general education, electives, and any classes that can go towards the major/minor to a max of 75%, or 114 in the case of TESU. The only thing is, these classes need to fit one requirement of the major, otherwise, they can't transfer in. Here's an easy example for TESU.

Pretend you have a BA Biology from RA institution, you've got 60 biology credits, 30 general education, 30 electives. You're going for a BSBA Accounting at TESU, they require 45 credits in the professional business requirements, that means, you can transfer in the general education of 30 credits, plus the electives of 15. You're to do 45 credits in the business requirements to graduate.

Can you give an example as you did above for TESU but for UMPI going towards the Bachelors in Accounting degree?

That’s great news.   And that is still the case even if I don’t have any business or Econ classes completed with my bachelors degree?

While the GEC is waived for those who hold a bachelor's degree, you are not exempt from any of the major requirements. So if a major such as accounting requires an econ course you will be required to complete the course. UMPI does not offer a block transfer of 90 credits. They don't do block transfers. They only waive the GEC and general electives for those who hold a bachelor's degree.

That's correct, if you use my example from TESU, change wording to UMPI and the 45 credits to 58-62 credits. Essentially, you have to complete the requirements of the major and that's it. This is true for all universities, you can't expect to have the major classes complete unless some of the classes are taken during your studies elsewhere. In brief, Jonathan mentioned earlier you'll need 66 credits, 30 from UMPI, 36 from Sophia/Study.com combo... I think that's very close to the number I would give, 58-62.
