Update: UoPeople only allows one associates and bachelors in the same subject area but allow multiple Masters.
UoPeople and UMPI are my go to recommendations now after UoPeople gained RA recently
For both institutions, you can transfer in 90 credits (or more, but only 90 will go into degree)
UMPI, if you can finish in one session, it's going to cost $1700. Most can complete in two.
UoPeople have partnerships with Sophia, Study.com, StraighterLine, 60 credits free assessment!
UMPI costs: 90 credits from Sophia.org $299 (4months)
If you can finish 10 classes in 1 session, $1700
Total: $1999 USD - 1 UMPI session is 8 weeks
Add AALS as second program and forget it as all courses from Bachelors complete program
UoPeople costs: App fee: $60
90 credits from Sophia.org $299 (4months)
90 credit transfer: (60 are free) 10 classes at $17 = $170
10 classes at $140/assessment = $1400
Total: $1929 for an entire Associates & Bachelors degree
For those looking to get a second bachelors, you can do so with an extra UMPI session or 10 assessments at UoPeople...
Thus, it'll be an extra $1700 at UMPI and for UoPeople, $60 app, plus $170 for 10 class assessment (your major prerequisites)
finally, the $140/assessment for the final 10 classes at UoPeople. Total for UoPeople is an extra $1630 for second bachelors!

UoPeople follows a format similar to SNHU, so it would take much longer to complete a degree at UoPeople than at UMPI. You’re looking at around 8 to 10 months for UoPeople versus 2 to 4 months for UMPI. Plus, you would have to deal with deadlines instead of doing competency-based education.
So for people interested in business degrees, UMPI is still the better option.
For Computer Science, the time difference is smaller if you're starting from scratch at TESU. For international students on a tight budget, UoPeople might be the only viable option.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience: CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

TESU is a great option for those who actually get the double degree with the flat rate deal, but the amount of work for those 15 credits is daunting for 12 weeks. You can always extend both capstones and have the cornerstone and other classes completed on schedule, it'll just cost the extension fee, but you need to have permission from the professor and also have at least 50% completed... Great deal for those who have the energy, time to get things done, if they want to score the double associates/double bachelors at the same time.

You don't have to take the flat rate term. For computer science, all you need is one course, the capstone, and it will cost you nearly the same as doing the flat rate term.
For UoPeople, the time it takes per week can vary widely depending on your knowledge and efficiency in completing courses. On the UoPeople website, they recommend a minimum of 15 hours per week per course, which reflects feedback from students.

For two courses, that would be 30 hours per week, which is more time than what is needed if you did the flat rate term at TESU. You would also need to maintain that pace for 10 straight months without burning out.

I refuse to consider them for the name alone. Even if they gave me money to do one of their degrees. I just can't see "University of the People" on my resume helping me out at all...

There are opportunities for those who don't mind the name, or for those who want to use their credits towards another institution. They've got cheap RA credits, 1 course or 3 credits is just $140/assessment, that's about $46.7/credit. Obviously, if you can get alternative credit cheaper, easier, faster, that's the route to go, but for those who need RA and their community college is more expensive than that, you can take the credits and finish the degree elsewhere...

For those who just need the 90 lower level credits that can transfer into the general education and electives, maybe some of the requirements for the BSBA or BS Comp Sci, you can take the 90 credits at Study.com for $95/month using the College Starter option.
If you can finish the classes quickly, you can be done in 3 months vs the 4 mentioned at Sophia.org above and save a few dollars... Please review the list from the thread post mentioned here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...cing-95-mo

One session, is that with regard to one subscription of 4 months?
Realistically, how doable is obtaining 90 credits in four months working full time?
I would probably look at the business degree.

Yes, one session at UMPI after 4 month subscription of Sophia.org. That's very subjective, there is a reason I put Study.com in there for 3 months vs 4 months and about the same price range, it's because I did about 34+ courses at StraighterLine in 3 months flat, that was with ProctorU issues way back when... It's much easier now with Sophia.org or Study.com where someone working full time (and with other various commitment variables at play) can complete the requirements for max transfer in 3 or 4 months...

I was totally surprised to see them obtain RA status based on public reviews. I have been interested in taste testing a couple of their courses in computer science. I think we have some great opportunities for many of the members here to knock out some RA courses at UoP. We've received some fairly positive updates in 2025 to cost-effectively knock out some programs at a reduced cost. I'm pretty impressed so far. Next on the list, I'm curious to see about the status of Christian Leaders Institute for those who may be interested.
