I wonder if it was specified at 3 years rather or not they would have still given it a doctorate equivalency. Because WES has been known to equate professional doctorate degrees from foreign countries as Masters degrees as they are generally shorter in duration than research doctorates.

Interesting. Professional doctorate are typically shorter than PhDs anyways, so that is an odd choice by them.
Hi,Everyone, this phenomenon is very interesting, and I would like to express my opinion here. I welcome everyone to discuss it together.
1) I have previously read a post about UCAM's WES certification, which showed that the MBA Titulo propio (private degree) certification status was unrecognized institution 2) This proves that Titulo propio (private degree) has low recognition in WES. But why is the degree of Doctor of Business Administration recognized? I think there are the following reasons: 1.Generally speaking, the formal doctoral degree (T í tulo de Doctor) in Spain must be an official degree (T í tulo Oficial) and regulated by the Ministry of Education. In terms of doctoral degrees, due to the strict regulatory policies of the Ministry of Education and the requirement for an official master's degree recognized by Spain (T í tulo de M á ster Universitario) to apply for a doctoral degree, WES's review of doctoral degree certification will be relatively relaxed. 2. Please take a look at the website: https://uniathena.com/doctorate-of-busin...nistration Among them, one of the pictures is the transcript of UCAM Titulo propio's PhD in Business Administration. Among them, at the top of the transcript, we can clearly see the following words: "Issued by Secretar í a de T í tulos Propios". This indicates that the degree was issued by a private academic management department, but the words "Issued by Secretar í a de T í tulos Propios" are cleverly written at the top and the font is small, so WES may not have noticed this word and mistakenly believed that the degree was an official degree (T í tulo Official) Secondly, in the main text of the transcript, it is not clearly stated whether the degree is an official degree (T í tulo Oficial) or a private degree (Titulo propio), and this part is not mentioned in the main text. Generally, transcripts will state: “Mr./Ms. Wisdom Ovovwe Akpokighe, with ID/passport number:111111 has successfully achieved all the credits and met all the requirements for the UCAM University Private Degree (T ítulo Propio)” In this case, the degree will be recognized as a Private Degree (T í tulo Propio), but the nature of the degree is not indicated in the transcript of the Doctor of Business Administration, so WES is likely to be misunderstood. Welcome everyone's discussion Please refer to the image - the image is sourced from https://uniathena.com/doctorate-of-busin...nistration Example of DBA transcript.
