WGU is hiring subject-matter experts on short-term remote contracts for course development in Calculus II for Engineers and Linear Algebra for Engineers, neither of which title they currently offer. There are Calculus II and Linear Algebra courses in their secondary math education degrees.
Meanwhile, UMPI is hiring part-time remote YourPace CBE faculty in Mathematics, including Calculus, Statistics, Real Analysis, etc. Currently there are only two math courses on YourPace, Probability and Statistics I and Mathematics for Business. The Computer Science major under development for YourPace will need a few more. Real Analysis is a surprise hiring interest: It’s not part of their on-campus Computer Science major (and rarely if ever required in a computer science major), though it is an elective in their on-campus Mathematics major.

Wonder if the real analysis role at UMPI is for the Business Intelligence concentration for the MSB.

Now WGU is hiring a subject matter expert in engineering ethics who must have experience teaching in an ABET-accredited program and who must have ABET accreditation experience, and who is a licensed Professional Engineer or equivalent.

With so little credit that UMPI now accepts from Sophia and Study.com, many transfer credits into a CS program will come in as Computer Science electives. Overall, TESU and WGU would likely be better options than UMPI if they had a CS program.

This is a very odd combination of skills. 4 years teaching engineering ethics AND a PE is a very select group. Most faculty at top Universities dont even hold those credentials because they typically represent two different career paths.
It also suggests a potential pivot. Sounds like they might be planning an engineering or engineering technology program. Though with just ethics and math, it is hard to say for what.
