Watch out for this Study.com bug

If you're taking your quizzes and want to score as high as possible before taking your proctored exam, consider leading one quiz untouched until you're happy with the score. My situation:

1. I took the quizzes and scored a 92.
2. I took my final, bombed it, and embarrassingly scored a 57. I was 4 points shy of passing the class
3. Then I went through the quizzes and bumped up my grade as high as I could go, I estimated I gained 4-5 points, but my quiz total never updated.
4. I took another proctored exam, scored higher, and after completion my quiz score updated to a 97, which would have taken my original score to a 211/300, which is a pass.

So I had to waste $70 on an exam.

I should never have failed so badly on the final, but it was VERY hard, and did not represent the material in the course or the practice final.
1. Prep Phase: Hopeless, 15 credits, need a BA fast, never heard of TESU
2. TESU BALS: 121/120 (9 months)

3. RN Paramedic Bridge - Excelsior (9 months + CPNE wait)
4. WGU RN -> BSN
5. BSN -> MSN/FNP

The quiz scores only count the first 3 attempts, so if you need more than that to score a 4 or 5, it won't help your score.

Also, you can't take the proctored final until all of your quizzes are complete, so you can't leave one undone.

Plus, I'm not sure how this would have helped in this situation.  You'd have been 9 points down instead of 4, and so you could have done the final quiz, gotten a 5, and still been 4 points shy of passing.

Which course was it, by the way?  That would certainly be info people could use around here.

Regarding the quiz number of attempts, I had quiz attempts left and scored 100% on or before the 3rd try on the retakes.

It was Art History I, definitely one of my favorite courses brick and mortar or online I've taken. I learned so much and it was a ton of fun (for me anyway.) But the exam was a bit funky.
