Western Assoc. of Food Chains offers free Retail Management Certificate to Employees

If you work at one of the 40+ grocery store chains (Costco, Safeway, Kroger, etc.) that are members of the WAFC, ask your HR person about the Retail Management Certificate program.

Most of these companies offer it for free to their employees and even have company cohorts. Over 100 community colleges and universities are listed as participating.

They also point out that you are halfway to your associate degree when you finish, and encourage you to continue at your partner college. In addition, they offer a small scholarship at WGU.

None of the Big 3 are partner colleges, but there are colleges listed from Texas to Alaska and Hawaii.
The online RMC is administered by Umpqua Community College.

This program was started with a Department of Labor grant for the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training initiative.

I should say that I first found out about this program when I went to the grocery store and saw a former student who works there. He proudly told me that he was doing this program at the local cc and that the company was paying for it. This weekend, I finally remembered to investigate further when I saw the post about Taco Bell partnering with Excelsior.
