Where to get Associate's Degree

What a crazy amazing deal.

Yep, it's a thing and it really is free.

I think the residency requirement that most states have is what prevents programs like this from existing, however, they still do require a residency- but they let you have it in any state you want, which is why they require some of your credit to come from actual college courses (online or in person).

I have no idea whatsoever is the turn around time for these. We have a good AAS BOG degree thread, and it takes people a LONG time from submission to conferral. My son met all the requirements, so I'm not really involved at this point, we're just going on with our lives and he's waiting for the physical paper to arrive.

I'll also add that not everyone has a long dealing time with Pierpont. My timeline went like this:
April 5: first contact
April 6: Nancy looked over my unofficial transcripts and gave me a rough idea of what was missing
April 8: sent in my admission paperwork for summer semester.
April 18: officially in their system as a student and started sending in all but my ACE transcripts.
May 24: submitten graduation application
June 6: submitted my ACE transcripts
June 20: all transcripts were showing at the school
June 22: confirmation that I met all requirements
Graduation is August 1st, just have to wait until then. I'll have less than 4 months from first contact until I have my degree. The only cost was for my transcripts. I think it was $27 total for me.
