Will Saylor's MBA program be nationally or regionally accredited in the future?

Will Saylor's MBA program be nationally or regionally accredited in the future?

I just got the "masters degree" form from them, the stamp at the bottom says "SAYLOR UNIVERSITY" I think they are in the process of setting up a university, like uopeople or worldquant university

The important thing is that it is free right now, it only costs us $5 for a test and if we pass all the tests, it only costs us $65 to $75 for this degree, then we just have to sit back and wait for it to be accredited (Note that this degree is licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education (CIE) and they are in the process of moving towards national accreditation)

Basically, you currently have an unaccredited degree (or at the very best, a state approved degree) from Saylor and it will remain that way unless otherwise noted by them. Even if they do get NA or RA status, you can't use yours or reference it as an accredited degree until they update that within your records. Some institutions will update the degree if the contents haven't changed when they get accredited, however, it depends on the institution, some will need you to go through newer regulations (extra class or two). Congrats for now, wait for accreditation and resubmit request to get the diploma again...

Michael Saylor has the money to make it happen, and he's demonstrated a long term commitment to Saylor Academy as a philanthropic endeavor. And I know they're hiring staff in South Florida. So I'd be very surprised if they don't end up accredited in the next few years.

Does the Florida licence have any credit?

Can you realistically still list this as an MBA? Or is it essentially ‘worthless’ aside from self-learning (at this current point in time for academics +/- employment)?

On that note, how are the UoPeople NA degrees being treated currently? Are they automatically considered RA since they were accredited when issued?

It's pretty much either NA or RA, there's a fine line to that, there can't be a 'grey area', it's one or the other... If the student graduates when the degree is NA, it remains NA until the institution can reissue a new degree indicating they meet the RA requirements. If it's already transition to RA, and then they graduate the day after transition, they've got an RA degree, so when the diploma gets shipped, you've got the RA degree in hand.

I read somewhere that UoPeople was going to honor degrees as RA dating back to 2021. If I am not mistaken.

That post doesn’t quite answer the question with regards to utility other than a generalised statement.

That's great if it does happen, but as again, they're NA until the institution proactively updates the diploma and record/transcripts for the student. Only then it will be noted as RA...

I mentioned it's unaccredited, that's all it's going to be needed anywhere in the world. If you think the unaccredited degree is worth, be my guest... It's all personal preference, it's just that the MBA isn't recognized until it's accredited by anyone. You can call yourself a MBA but people won't accept it. That's what unaccredited means, it's not ENEB level yet as it can be evaluated as equivalent.
