Would you drive 1,000+ miles to earn free college credit?

I get the sense that part of the thousand-mile trek was an adventure for a soon-to-be adult as well as a CLEP credit expedition.
I read another article somewhere and it sounded like he did camp and have a good time, and took the experience as an adventure. Modern States just spun it as an interesting story. During Covid, I drove about 90 miles to go to the ONLY testing site that was actually open for CLEP and DSST exams. This was before CLEP introduced their janky online testing option. The site was a community college literally in the middle of nowhere. The guy who ran it was a veteran, super sweet, and told me that people were coming from hundreds of miles away. probably people doing a similar deal to what Modern States described with Adam.

Kudos to him for getting it done, and a nice adventure to boot.

People think differently, what if the person wanted to save on time and also go on a road trip... get those two done at the same time, but it was just a two/three day road trip... kinda expensive, but then again, he was able to get 5 courses completed in those two days instead of completing a semester at the university. That would have saved him the semester cost alone...
