I *think* the AP (advanced placement) English Comp exams fulfill the WER at EC, too.

Then take the TECEP English Comp I. It will cost you $450 if you are not a student at TESC. Excelsior accepts it to fulfill the English requirement. It is a pass/fail test and pretty easy. It was like 3 or 4 short answer (1 to 2 paragraphs) then 1 full essay. I took it and scored a 98.
I've read that the ECE test can take a loooooong time to be graded. I received the results to my TECEP 4 weeks from the day I took it. You can also use a local librarian to proctor it, mine did it for free.
