But in my case, I have none except a bunch of unusable Westwood credits, which Excelsior is happily accepting 30 of those credits. TESC and COSC won't take them at all.
Very true, this is based on the assumption that someone is planning to test out or use ACE sources for almost the entire degree. I am avoiding traditional classes as best as I can due to the cost/time requirements. Almost all of my credits will come from CLEP/Straigherline/TECEP/Saylor/DSST

It makes sense for you because you have NA credits you want to transfer. For those testing out, it makes more sense to attend TESC or COSC in most cases. If someone wants to take a lot of online courses at one of the Big 3, then TESC's Comprehensive Tuition Plan is the cheapest.

At least 24 of those credits must be from TESC, if you're going to use the Per Credit tuition plan. Since most TECEPs are worth 3 credits, you can just take 8 TECEPs to fulfill the residency requirement (8 TECEPs x 3 credits each = 24 TESC credits).
Quote:Please explain. I'm starting from scratch, are you transferring in credits?
I'm starting from scratch, too... if you mean what I think you're meaning? :p I don't have any credits from college courses yet... I'll be taking UExcels/Saylor/ALEKS/etc and transferring 96 of those credits over to TESC. Then I'll take another 24 credits with TESC to fulfill the residency requirement. You'd need to take at least 3 TESC credits a year to maintain continuous enrollment; there is no enrollment fee.
But considering your 30 NA credits, TESC may or may not be the cheaper option...

I want to know more about the Peace Officers Association? Is it only in Georgia or do they have it in every city?

Originally it was for Peace officers in the State of Georgia. Some of our forum members are Peace Officers in Georgia, then there there was security officer memberships through Georgia based security companies, and now there is an associate membership which is open to people who support the POAG. Associate membership used to cost less but I think its the same price, 25 dollars per year. They issue you a membership number and then you apply to Excelsior as a POAG member, they confirm your membership and grant you the discount and reduction in fees which includes the enrollment fees. The paperwork for POAG members used to have a residency requirement of six credits at Excelsior but it is in fact 12 credits like all other partnerships. There are numerous partnership agreements which will reduce your fees but membership in POAG is so easy to maintain that it is usually the only one mentioned on here.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

I'm unhappy with the B&M school I'm at, and want to switch to a Big 3 in the Fall. I'll have 101 traditional credits, 9 ALEKS, and 9 CLEP. It looks like just the capstone at Excelsior, which gives me a cost of $1740 on the net price calculator. Is TESC going to be cheaper? I don't really care at this point; I just want to be done.
PS How do I change my signature?

I didn't spend much at all at Excelsior. Except for one math classes, I tested out of the rest at Excelsior at $100 a test.
