I definitely I want the Associate's Degree first, so I am going to check out Pierpont.
@Vle045, I currently work in an alternative school and I love it. I'm more like an unofficial school counselor than a case manager aide, lol. I never thought I'd like something like this.

Since you have already attended college (even if for three credits) you will likely not have to produce proof of HS completion, since you have college credits to transfer. No matter what school you end up at you're automatically a transfer student due to your prior CC (this is good news for you).
Houston Community College is open-admission, even without a GED or diploma. I also attended Santa Monica College in California, but I had to drop out there before the semester was over. They didn't need any proof of graduation, either.
That's good news that I'll be a transfer student.
In my personal experience I had always been able to apply and become accepted as a transfer student from my original CC transcript without an associates earned, or proof of diploma/GED, just my CC credits (too many colleges and universities to list). It has been pointed out after my statement here, that this is something where YMMV with different schools. However, since you're now planning the Pierpont BOG AAS degree first it should resolve the issue all together.

Things that can be accessed immediately, regardless of "official" HS graduation status:
Study.com
Sophia.org
Saylor Academy
Davar
ASU - https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Ar...al_Learner
OnlineDegree.com
Things that you should be able to access right now because of your CC credit:
ONU - https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Ol...University
Things you might be able to access (but not guaranteed):
Pierpont degree
Things you cannot access until you have a GED and/or Associate degree:
TESU degree
UMPI degree
Excelsior degree (I think)
COSC degree
On the bright side, if you do need to get a GED, the modern GED is worth college credit at some schools. It can be worth up to 10 credits, depending on your scores. I would expect Pierpont to give you full credits. I know TESU does give credits. I would expect UMPI might give credits, at least as electives. https://ged.com/educators_admins/program.../adoption/
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming

It looks like you don't need proof of high school equivalency at admission for Excelsior: https://www.excelsior.edu/policy/special...uivalency/
Quote:Individuals who have not earned a high school diploma, or its equivalent, are eligible for admission to Excelsior College. However, under New York State law, the College cannot confer an earned degree on such a student unless and until the student has met articulated preliminary education requirements.

But you can't graduate without proof so you're kind of screwed unless you have it.

Well, it looks like the preliminary education requirements are general education requirements:
Quote:Students who are 18 or older must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent from their state of residence or have completed 24 semester hours of credit distributed as follows toward their Excelsior College degree program: 6 semester hours in English language arts including writing, speaking, and reading (literature), 3 semester hours in mathematics, 3 semester hours in natural science, 3 semester hours in social science, 3 semester hours in humanities, and 6 semester hours in any other courses within the degree program; ... or ...

@staceyelle, you can hit a few birds with one stone, essentially you can graduate with an AAS (with a concentration if you want) at Pierpont, get a BAS (again a concentration of your choice) at UMPI and finally finish with a Masters in Psychology at Walden. Your AAS credits will "finish your high school" requirement, as you can use those credits towards your final high school years and make it a dual enrollment. You can get the SO or hubby to be the school administrator and print yourself a copy once you finish the AAS.

Thanks! That sounds like a good plan!
The hubby is super supportive of my doing this. He's been one of the motivators for me, because he has an MBA. He's great at math, so he's going to help me power through that. My superpowers are everything but that, lol.
It took me decades to realize it, but one of the reasons that I had difficulty with school was that I had (then undiagnosed) ADHD. Now I'm getting that taken care of, and it's so much easier to study!
@bjcheung77, I have a question for you. I've been taking a couple of classes at OnlineDegree.com since I took the Sophia ones. I know that UMPI won't take them, so what should I do about them?
Finished Degrees and Certificates:
AAS, BOG (Info Systems)---Pierpont Community and Technical College, December 2023
Certificate, Community Health Worker---Berkeley City College, December 2023
Currently:
BA, Liberal Studies---Thomas Edison State University, (July 2024-present)
Considering:
MA in Counseling---not sure where.

I would just drop the OnlineDegree courses. Sophia, Study.com, and InstantCert have everything you need for UMPI.
Pierpont is a bit iffy about NCCRS courses. They should accept them, but sometimes they don't. Which OnlineDegree courses have you been working through?

Are you a New Jersey resident or are you located there temporarily for AmeriCorps? You can get a scholarship as an AmeriCorps alumnus at TESU: https://americorps.gov/schools-national-...university
With in-state tuition and the TESU scholarship, it might end up costing less to finish TESU than UMPI (if you were to take more than a couple terms at UMPI). TESU would also accept the OnlineDegree.com courses.

So if I can get this done before then, it would be awesome. That's super cool that TESU offers a scholarship.
