It does seem that anyone can register; they do make some distinction between native and non-native students, so it appears you don't have to be native to attend. The difference is not in price, so I'm not sure what the difference actually is. All the courses in the upcoming course catalog are online.

I believe the difference is the native-specific aid available. That may not reflect in the price, but may be scholarships or grants on the back end.

Since they receive federal funding, they have to follow guidelines about allowing students of any ethnicity. They were $55 a credit last year too. Someone posted a while back and we were asking whether it matter if a non-native applied. Through my research, ethnicity should not matter. I see that this has been a junior college but now has a few Bachelor's degrees.

Does anyone think their upper level credits would transfer out to the Big 3 or other colleges? They'd be RA credits, yes?

It does seem like a unique institution. Cool.

It's always up to the receiving institution to determine how or if they accept credits. It's a case-by-case basis, so you should always ask if you know where you want them transferred.

That being said, they are RA credits, so the likelihood of them being accepted at a lot of schools is high. No guarantees about upper level vs lower level, though.

I've liked this school a lot, since I first found it a couple of years ago. I have a strong interest in Navajo culture and this school teaches a lot of courses - and complete degree programs - in that area. Unfortunately, when I looked, none of this was done by distance, so right now, I'm taking a Navajo language course elsewhere. I wish I'd known Diné College had expanded its distance offerings. I'll be looking them up!

You may be aware already, but Duolingo teaches Navajo for free. No idea the quality. Just throwing that out there if anyone were looking for a supplement. I'm using it for Spanish, at the moment.
