Question regarding IC English Comp

I have used the IC flashcards for English Composition. In the basic grammar mulitiple choice, of the approximately 120 questions, I missed maybe 14. But, when I tried the fill in the blank flashcards, I totally bombed. I maybe got 3 right out of the entire test. Does this mean I am not ready? Is the actual CLEP multiple choice? I will be trying for my Freshman College Composition with essay next Thursday. This will be my very first CLEP. I've read on here it is similar to English Comp.
