Post 9/11 and TESC 50% Eligibility
#14
Vandalet Wrote:They way he(mm1988) explined it was correct. There are two different percentages involved with the new gi bill. One is the number of months you have left(what you are talking about), and the other is the amount you are eligible for each month(what he is talking about with the 50%). Basically, he has been in the military long enough to get the post 911 gi bill(36 Months), but he only has 1.5 years of Active Duty time, so he is only eligible to get 50% of his stuff paid for, but he still has 36 months of that.

Thanks for the info on the MDCP, I just signed up for that and got scared when i seen his $1600 comment.

I'm a female, but thanks for explaining it better. I know that there is no enrollment fee if you do the MDCP, but I stated that I only need 12 SH to graduate, I did not want to do 24 hours through TESC. I'm sorry, I thought I mentioned that. Also, the TA is only enough to cover approximately 18 units per fiscal year. If you want a bachelors degree, you're going to pay 6 hours out of pocket, if you complete the 24 hour requirement. Unless, you have financial aid, or you plan to extend your units out over a longer period of time.
