Cleaning out my work email. and I came upon this email I had recieved back in 2012. (yes, I know, it's terrible. Junk mail since 2012, really?). I did a two-minute tour of the site, saw they're regionally accredited and running specials. I figure someone in here (um, um, clear throat Sanatone or Jennifer) might want to do a review as for me I got two CLEPs scheduled for MOnday to study for.

Grants, Scholarships, and Tuition Savings | Tuition and Fees | Walden University

Walden is quite expensive. My ex-wife got her M.Ed from Walden, and the tuition for the 24 month program was nearly $50k.

These "scholarships" and "grants" are simply marketing tools to try to lure in unsuspecting potential students (customers). The "enroll by X, receive $X scholarship funds" is used by many other for profit institutions. I applied to Capella once, and received a $3000 scholarship for applying by a certain date. However, the cost for the program I was enrolled in was many MANY times more than the amount of the "scholarship" I was awarded. In other words, the company would have lost very little money in the long run.

Walden University is a private/for-profit institution, just like University of Phoenix, Capella, Kaplan, Devry, etc. I'm not diminishing the education others may have received from these institutions, but these companys' business practices, and the students' return-on-investment are factors that should be considered when looking into one of these institutions.
