The US is still in a good position to go through to the knock out stages. If they win or draw against Germany they automatically go. If they lose against Germany it will depend on the score in the Ghana vs. Portugal game. If the Ghana vs. Portugal game is a draw then the USA will automatically go through whether they win, lose or draw, as will Germany. Obviously, it's still better that the USA wins their game because that will determine their seeding for the next round.
