Well looks like consensus is on doing the degree via CBE. My experience with CLEP and DSST exams has been fairly positive since I passed both of them, got 479 on World Religions and 52 on A and I Lit however I over prepared for both exams took me 45 days to prepare for them. Maybe I'm going to get better with experience since these exams were the first CBE exams I ever took.
Anyways the reason why I find competency based program attractive is that you have the chance of doing small assignments and your marks will periodically accumulate unlike the CLEP where you have one shot. I haven't tried earning credits through Straighterline but I have to give that a try looks very interesting. I guess the dilemma has come to some resolution I need to try doing more CLEPs and DSSTS until I can confidently say CBE is the way to go (or not).
