DSST Civil War is definitely the easiest of the history DSSTs and the World Conflicts ECE. You're definitely right that it's easier because it covers a shorter time period. IC and the SEF has pretty much everything you need, but if you have time to learn the subject more, all you need is free online. Here's my feedback.
