My wife is taking Penn Fosters Strategic Management like I did. I would have to say that things have changed for the worse. The new Professor, Mrs. Evans is one of those "educated elitsts" that gives higher education a bad name. Firstly, she spends 10-20 min of the webinars talking about herself like any good narcissist would do. She also does a good job of belittling people in the webinars for wrong answers instead of being supporting and helping to "educate and teach" like she is supposed to do. In one webinar the person actaully left the session after a tirade. She has made several references to "when you are in graduate school" and sets the expectations of the class and writings to that level, or in my opinion, above graduate level stepping into the doctoral level. Hello asshat! This is just an upper level undergraduate course. She is one of those people that gets an MBA and magically thinks that they are smarter than the whole world, and we mear simpletons should kiss the ground she walks on. This is why she is a professor at Harvard, oops my bad, I meant Penn Foster. She also sets the expectations for the end paper higher than what is in the instructions and does not provide a grading rubric. My wife laughs because she says that two references are required, but that will get you a bad grade and there should be 5. "What is this Office Space? If you want 5 pieces of flair, than make the requirement 5 pieces of flair!"
This is why I have a disdain for for-profit schools.
So if you like getting no real assistance from a professor, have unclear instructions and grading requirements, and being belittled by an "educated" elistist, please sign up for Penn foster.
I know there are a lot of good people on this forum, and being treated like dirt by a professor can severely disrupt your mojo. Hopefulyl I can save some people the poor experience and keep your momentum going. Rock on!
