Hey Chris,
Biology is a moderately difficult test only because of the breadth of the subject. Being overwhelmed is understandable. I'd never taken a biology class, but passed the CLEP with a 71. I exclusively used the Crash Course Biology videos on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnQe0xW_...1D684D3ADF (I'll try a link, but last time I tried, it was edited out...I know, an external link in a forum in the year 2015, how scandalous.) I watched most of the videos, then I took the Peterson's practice tests, along with the official CLEP practice test. If a something on the test seemed difficult or foreign, I re-watched the corresponding 10 minute Crash Course video. In all, it took me less than a week of preparation. I found the content to be spot on.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
