I saw your thread and it prompted me to stop lurking and sign up as a member. San Jose State University, which is part of the California State University system has a fully online master's degree in library science. It only has a couple of classes as prerequisites. I can't offer any information about how to finance your education, but I live in northern California, so I just happen to know about SJSU's online MLS program.
I wish you all the best with your studies. I am the mother of a 17 year old daughter who will be a he senior this fall. She has no idea what she wants to do, so my husband and I are looking to find ways to help her try out some areas of study without spending a fortune.
