This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but East Tennessee State University offers a few 8-week courses online for free, including US History II, with assigned readings, videos, instructor feedback, and everything else you'd expect in a typical online college course you pay for. Even if you don't finish the course according to their schedule, the resources alone may be worth checking out.
Maybe if you wanted to take a free college course, it would be a good option. The bad part is that you can't get college credit for it without paying $325. That's a lot of money for a course that you can take at a CC for ½ that price, and from places on here for ⅓ of that cost.
If you just want to use the resources, that's great. I'm sure it's set up much better than Saylor.
And if you had a HS student who wanted to see what a college-level course was like, but you didn't want to commit to paying for it, this might be a good option as well. You could always take a CLEP exam after you were done to actually get the credit (or another method we use on here).
