Hello there, here's my take. I would highly suggest finishing from the local state college if possible.
The only reason I recommend the Big 3 or competency programs is because of "learning" issues.
Your son is young, doesn't have kids, isn't working full time, there aren't as many barriers to education.
Essentially, the Big 3 and competency programs are geared towards "Adults" that are coming back to finish their education.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great way for people to complete of any age, but is it the right choice for him.
If cost is a factor, choose TESU, I think it will be cheaper if he complete his degree at TESU vs UofF.
