WGU MS Data Analytics

Well, here's an update. It's a moot point for me until I get back to the US whether WGU will accept someone with an economics degree to the program, so I've begun thinking about alternatives.

The Georgia Tech program looks great, but I have no idea how selective they are, plus they follow the standard semester system and have a standard admissions process. Dakota State University has a program at the upper end of what I'm willing to pay before I'd go autodidact instead. Whereas WGU and GT are relatively clear on the prerequisite knowledge they want you to have, DSU is not, although they allude to it (I'm going to see if I can clear that up with them).

Given all that, I'm wondering if the TESU BS in Data Analytics, despite being a relatively expensive bachelor's degree is the path of least resistance. I should mention that what I want to be able to offer is a more data-driven approach to business problems.

Any thoughts?

The TESU degree is not terribly expensive when you look at the coursework ($5950 last I checked, for all of the Statistics.com courses).  But then when you add the residency waiver, it adds up to $8,148 - and that's with the discount, which will go away at least partially, because there is no way to finish by June.  When you look at the program, it shows that if you started today, the final course would be complete Jan 31, 2020.

I think you're better off getting a Master's degree, even if you have to wait for the WGU course.  You could do the 10 courses in 2 terms for $7,570.
