ASU credit for $99 until 08-17-2020!

If nothing else, having ASU credits generally looks better on your transcript than some small local CC that almost nobody's ever heard of. Depending on what you're trying to do, even $400 per class is a bargain. I'm not knocking CCs at all; they're great and the quality of education can be the same or better than some big-name universities. But they just don't have the same name recognition and "authority" that big universities do.

Nobody cares where you took English Comp 101 at. Nobody.

And BTW - plenty of people have never heard of ASU.  We tend to assume that people know lots of schools, but they don't.  Most people know like 10-20, and generally they are big name Ivies, a few others, and a few locals.  Outside of that, they don't know and don't care.

ASU offers more than just English Comp. Duh.

And if you're trying to go to a school that isn't one of the big 3, having an alternate way to get at least some of your credits relatively cheaply without resorting to alternative forms of credit, like SDC, Saylor, etc. is important. 

Also, most schools care very much where you took English comp from or else everyone would accept ACE credits.

Let me revise my statement. 99% of schools do not care where you took your LL GE courses.  Not English Comp 101, not College Algebra, not Intro to Sociology, as long as it's graded from an RA school.

We were never discussing ACE/NCCRS credit here, and I was quoting you with the whole ASU is better than some CC.  Again, nobody cares.  Nobody is impressed with you taking Western Civ at ASU vs the local CC (and most state schools have transfer agreements with local CC's so they are actually probably happier if you take the course at the CC because they don't have to think about whether or not it will work - they know it does).  If it checks the box, it's fine. You don't get extra super duper bonus points from taking it at ASU.
