I have 18 years in the insurance industry, doing everything from marketing to project management. I feel like there should be credit there, but the website made the process sound extremely cumbersome and almost not worth it if you can take some of the business courses on Sophia.
The work experience thing doesn't count for residency. Unless it's JUST a resume, it'll be faster & easier to complete Sophia or UMPI courses.

How long it takes, and how you best utilize the open book philosophy?rachel83az Wrote:I get that you have a tight timeline, but not transferring in more classes could result in you needing to take 4 or more sessions instead of just 1-3. Most alternate credit, at least from Sophia, is going to be faster and easier than UMPI classes. Once you start, you can NOT transfer in additional classes unless you have permission. They will usually give permission, but they might not.
At the very least, you should have your foreign language and science credits completed if you don't already. Those, especially science, are killer classes at UMPI. You can take the Mandarin ACTFL speaking exam for easy foreign language credits.
I would contact Jessica about your foreign transcript, but they usually won't evaluate it until right before your first session begins.
@wenwenyo, 姐妹, This is correct. With a tight timeline, you're trying to "rush" things by doing the expensive, hard, long, slow way that will cost you in the long run, as it will "not fit the deadline" you wanted. By following my instructions, you'll be able to get it cheaper, easier, faster by deferring by 1 session. But most importantly, it will hit the deadline and save you from a big headache!
When I created the Beginner's Guide about 6 years ago, I had a "4 month" Bachelors degree, a few people followed those steps and were able to complete it in that time, one of the members here did it in 5 months as he started from 6 credits. Nowadays, it's even easier with Sophia.org instead of previously, StraighterLine. I am not asking you to take shortcuts or skip anything, learn as you need but cheaper, easier, faster, "with a better ROI/Value".
My way at ACE providers: Invest in a second monitor, spend $99/month on Sophia.org, you can finish 1 course in 1 day for those that don't have touchstones (writing assignments). It is probably 10x easier & faster than at UMPI. Depending on your requirements (which degree you need), you can complete as fast as 1 month of Sophia.org and 2 sessions of UMPI. Send us your academic evaluation so we know what's needed.
If you go through my way, at minimum it's $99 + $2800 and will take just 20 weeks, you have cash, energy, time left! (Treat your loved ones to a great dinner, relax, spend time with them). Your way at UMPI: Degree 120 credits - Current 51 credits = Remaining 69 credits (roughly 23 courses left). You will take 4 sessions by completing 6 courses each session (32 weeks/8 months), it'll cost $5,600 at UMPI
