The thing is, I actually really enjoy French. I've been kind of on a duolingo loop for a few years; go hard for a while, forget the app exists for several months, start again.
I'd try an exam, but the listening portion scares me. I can barely understand what's going on in tv shows or movies without subtitles.
Edit: whoops, I meant to reply to the person who recommended the clep exam. I'll look into the ACTFL!
Review the options you have thought of and the options provided to you in the thread and see which one is better for you, you can do a combo of them if you have the energy, money, time to spend towards learning these languages and doing the exams for them, if it's not a problem for you that is...
