Modern States courses are pretty minimalistic, but still long. Despite often not being enough to pass a CLEP on their own, the courses can each take 1-2 weeks to complete. Again, some people are able to speed through MS courses in a couple of days and some take a month or longer to finish, but I think that 1-2 weeks is a good average.
I did the American Government MS course recently, and it took 90 minutes. But I'm sure other courses take longer. So it just depends on the course.
