Any modifications or considerations to my plan at TESU?

A good idea. This allows you to transfer in credits continually in order to confirm where they go and how close you are to your goals. If it takes you longer than 12 months to finish, you'll need to pay for the TECEP again.

Over the 16 credit limit to get the residency fee wavered. in total it'll take about a year to earn these credits.

As already stated, you don't need 30+ credits directly from TESU. If you don't want to pay the residency waiver, about half can come from other sources. You can generally earn these credits in any order, with the major exception being the capstone(s). Capstones are usually only allowed after TESU sees that you've completed 100+ credits from all sources.

As long as you are enrolled at TESU, you may transfer the credits in as you earn them. Generally, it's a good idea to do this once a month or so.

Last 16, but yes.

1. when I enroll into TESU, do I like declare somehow what majors I'm completing?

You enroll for one, then you have to email an advisor to ADD any additional degree(s) to your plan. Unfortunately, they will sometimes CHANGE your degree, instead of adding, so you have to email them again to get the first degree re-added. For new students, it's no big deal. But it can still be annoying to deal with.

Yes, overlapping GE classes only need to be taken once. You do not need to take them multiple times for multiple degrees.

(01-05-2023, 10:35 AM)Mccderm Wrote: 3. Is it realistic completing 5 exams at study.com per month?

Maybe. It depends on the classes. For UL classes, you're probably looking at only being able to complete 2-3 per month. UL classes have assignments that must be completed.

(01-05-2023, 10:35 AM)Mccderm Wrote: 4. where could I find how much It'll cost when I attend TESU for the rest of the credits?

For the 16 TESU credits to avoid the residency waiver fee, it depends on whether you want to do a flat-rate term or not. Flat-rate tuition (9 to 16 credits per term) is here: https://www.tesu.edu/tuition/flat-rate-tuition Per credit rates  (1 to 8 credits per term) are here: https://www.tesu.edu/tuition/per-credit

(01-05-2023, 10:35 AM)Mccderm Wrote: 5. For the TECEPs I see on their site that for classes levels 100-200 it’s $52, and $77 for classes 300-400 class levels. The question arises from it saying "Per credit attempted". Does that mean if I want to earn RA credits towards TESU, I'll have to multiply the price by 3? Because of the credits of classes is 3 credits.

Yes. Same with any TESU classes.

A slightly more confusing, though cheaper, option for "RA credits" for TESU would be to earn free/low-cost ECTS from a Finnish university, have them evaluated by ACEI, and then transfer them to TESU. Instead of paying $156 for 3 LL credits or $231 for 3 UL credits, you'd pay about $200 for the evaluation of all the free credits you're able to earn. These would mostly wind up as electives, though there are some classes that should go elsewhere.

But, if you'd prefer TECEPs, that's totally fine and up to you.

Sources: study.com and CLEP (maybe TECEPs).
Cost: CLEPs $1,260. study.com $2,490. Total $3,750
Time: ACE, CLEPs, 11.5 months. Time for 33 RA credits ?.

Sophia is much cheaper & faster than SDC for most Gen Eds. Once you take into account scheduling, potential time off work, etc., Sophia can even be cheaper than "free" CLEP exams. Most students are able to complete 60+ Sophia credits in 2-3 months for a total cost of $200-300.

If you do choose to do CLEPs, though, definitely use ModernStates, as already mentioned.
