I think as sanantone already pointed out, we do know this already -- It's happening by design. Harvard wanted to and went out of their way to distinguish between traditional students and extension students. They'll happily market to prospective students that it has all of the prestige of traditional Harvard, but then make sure that alumni aren't cashing in on that prestige. When the elitism comes from inside the house, it's no surprise that this is the reputation that is picked up on by outsiders.
