You can see examples of essays at different grade levels in myAccess. When you're looking at the document editor for the Assignment, there's a menu/button at the bottom called 'REFERENCE'. Under that menu is a link called 'WRITER'S MODEL'. In that page you can select what grade level to view an example essay.
Remember that it's not going to check your sources, so just make up quotes from imaginary people, magazines, doctors, scientist. It likes to see you back up your claims.
I took College Writing which required 3 essays in 3 hours, not sure what Engligh Composition is looking for. If it's anything like College Writing practice writing an essay under the time limit so you have a chance to check your spelling. I found that College Writing was more of a speed writing exam, rather than quality of writing. I got a B because I ran out of time. If I had another 15 minutes I would've been able to check what I wrote and correct spelling errors.
