My grades for BUS 602, Accounting for Managers, and BUS 903, Analyzing Behavior in Organizations, are finally in! I was lazier with BUS 602 than I admittedly should have been. I know enough about accounting to get by in the real world and know enough about accounting academically to despise it. Without any assignments apart from the finals, I didn't do anything for the class. I read the required material and completed the final assignment, which may have been 5-6 hours total spent on this course. I got the bare minimum grade to pass the class (not recommended), mainly, I was dinged for not following the instructor's prescribed format. Someone better at accounting or willing to take more than a cursory glance at the course material would do better without much more time commitment.
BUS 903 had a few short quizzes, and the final assignment was a simple paper with only a 7-page minimum. This class is intended to be the first class you complete in the DBA program, and the workload reflects that. I enjoyed this class, the lectures, and the reading material. The quizzes were perfect for cementing your understanding of the material; everything translated well into the final assignment. The class is a cakewalk if you're good at writing and are already familiar with business organization frames. If these are new topics, the course material will have you spun up. It was a very well-structured class, just like BUS 901 and 606 were.
12 credits deep into the MBA+DBA! I am loving this program so far! My next set of courses start near the end of January and will essentially conclude the MBA portion of the program. The MBA+DBA program is an additional 15 credits at the 600 level tacked onto Edgewood's DBA program, letting you earn their ACBSP-accredited MBA. The other 15 credits needed to complete the MBA come from the DBA program. Once you have fulfilled the MBA portion of the program, only 30 credits remain to complete the DBA.
