Everyone is going to have their opinion on learning and the ways to accumulate alternative credits, I am very neutral to taking alternative credits as I started with StraighterLine and took at least 30+ with proctoring through ProctorU. I didn't mind a person on the other end, I even had an interaction with one of them as they required two ID's and at the end of the exam, marked mine with technical difficulties, so in the end, I had to call StraighterLine to unlock the class to grant me the credits. Basically, I think we're all overlooking or looking too hard at some things over others...
Anyways, long story short... I think of these alternative providers as dual enrollment or as high school/college combo of classes, these are mainly lower level in nature. You can transfer in at max 90 credits in most cases, but you're finishing the final courses and requirements at a real institution, mostly public or state institutions unless you decide on the non profit ones. You'll still have hurdles to complete the final 30 credits until you're done with everything in order to get the degree. It may seem more simple for 3/4th of the degree, in the end, you still have to pass the final hurdles.
