Had an employer...Upper middle class boomer from California. I obtained a bachelor's using tactics from this forum. He knew I was taking classes. He knew I was chasing a degree. I got the degree. He congratulated me on Linkedin and Facebook once I obtained the degree.
Fast forward a couple months. He made some reference to me never having gotten a degree. "What are you talking about? I got a degree two months ago."
"I thought you didn't go to college."
"You watched me grind through a degree program! You saw the diploma on my wall. It's there right now. You congratulated me."
"I thought that was just... some correspondence courses or something."
Six months later, I used that degree to get a new job and make him my former employer.
Two things to take away here: 1. Many people still do not understand or value online education. 2. Go where your knowledge and skills are appreciated.
