Taking a generic view, this is a post for anyone who gets in a bind when legitimate credits aren't recognized. It's about how to use one school's bureaucracy to overcome a bureaucratic problem at another school.
I have brick and mortar A.S., B.A., and M.B.A. degrees. I've been accepted into a brick and mortar B.S.N. program. The registrar of the nursing school says I haven't taken English Composition II. But I have. The professor says I did. The registrar of the school I took it from says I did and provided an official statement to that effect.
Since getting my degrees, I made a 53 on the CLEP College Composition with essay. The nursing school itself does not grant credit for CLEP, but does accept it when another school lists it on an official transcript.
If the registrar doesn't yield on this, I'm wondering if I should get an associate's degree from one of the online schools. That's assuming I'd get credit for English Composition II. Which school could grant the credit and the degree the fastest? When would it be awarded? I would have to have an official transcript at the nursing school by mid-May.
I'm hoping for logic to prevail, but in case it doesn't, I need to make plans now. I'm sure other people have had transcript surprises at the last minute. What solutions do the great minds here have?
