They are DEAC accredited because they are part of Patten, which is DEAC accredited. Their goal is to become independent of Patten, so they are seeking accreditation that will enable them to be a standalone DEAC-accredited institution.

Application didn't work for me, apparently they're not authorized in Virginia (USA). Here's the details...

"Thank you for your application to Elmwood! Unfortunately, we are not authorized in the state of Virginia so we are unable to process your application.

Please visit our accreditation commission's website for The DEAC Directory of Accredited Institutions. All school's listed offer distance education and hopefully you will find an institution that fits your needs.

We wish you the best with your educational endeavors.

Respectfully,

Laurie Tarlos
Director of Admissions and Student Achievement
Elmwood Institute"

Good to hear they got back to you. That confirms that only the states they listed can apply. (My state is in there).  Still waiting for them to reply to my email.

Here’s the states again. Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington.

“Thank you for your application to Elmwood! Unfortunately, we are not authorized in the state of XXX so we are unable to process your application.”

So, for people in half of the states, no $900 NA degree for you!

Do they not have this info on their website?

It is on the website.

Is it possible that there's
  • one set of states, listed above, Elmwood can proactively solicit for students from,
  • a second set of states Elmwood must reject prospective students from,
  • and a third set of states including your state that Elmwood cannot proactively solicit for students from, but can accept students from?

"Academic Calendar
Elmwood Institute utilizes a flexible, overlapping term-based structure. Students may enroll in a term
at the beginning of each month. Each term is 16 weeks in length, although students have access to
course materials and faculty during the week after the course ends. Students may enroll in one to four
courses per term (3 to 12 semester credits). Students have access to all course materials and faculty
during the week after the term ends."

As it doesn`t say: "You can be enrolled at a maximum at 4 courses at any time", it could mean that somebody could just register to 4 courses at the beginning of each term, every month? (and have 12 courses at the same time, after 3 months, in the 16 weeks schedule).

Not me of course, as I plan to take only 1 course.

"We want to assure you that your application has been successfully received and is now in our system. Our admissions team is committed to a thorough evaluation process, which, due to the high volume of applications we receive, may take several weeks to complete. Please understand that our program attracts many qualified candidates, making the selection process quite competitive. We will also need your official transcripts from University of the People sent directly to us from the institution or via a secure service such as Parchment."

Ok, thank you to the UoPeople for allowing me to apply to programs, without having to get foreign evaluations.
