Advice for studying for College Composition:
#1
Hello,

I am two tests away from my CCAF and I currently need mathematics and college comp.

I just have one question in regards to college comp.

I have study materials for college comp but I want to take the modular test as to avoid essays. Is the material the same or will I waste study time with useless material?

Any assistance is appreciated.

also any advice for what math to take for someone who is horrible at math and hates it with all of their being would help as well.

Thank you!

I believe CLEP lists the study material as the same for both exams. The bigger difference will be the time allotment for the multiple-choice section (and the number of questions) -- the modular version is a full 90 minutes vs. the College Comp exam which sets the MC section at 50 minutes.

For your math credit, CLEP College Math would be best of you have to take a CLEP test. Other options that might or might not work include the TECEP Liberal Arts Mathematics and our perennial favorite, ALEKS math courses (Beginning, Intermediate, College Algebra- ask your advisor to see if any of these would work). Search for ALEKS math on this website for tons of information about ALEKS. And thank you for your service!

Study material on College Comp/College Comp modular are the same, it's even the same study guide.

ALEKS will not work for CCAF GenEd. The TECEP might, but also might not. They are extremely selective on what they will accept for credit, exams outside of CLEP, DSST, and UEXCEL/ECE's are on a case-by-case basis. The College Math CLEP is the best bet.
